PROTOCOL
ROLE: GAME DESIGNER

GENRE MASH
Protocol is a card game that belongs to the Secret Identity family of card games.

In the past, most card games that feature hidden roles focus exclusively on social deception through role-play. In Protocol, we attempted to make the game much more in-depth, with action cards and the timeline introduced to offer a unique experience!
INTRODUCING THE TIMELINE
Protocol features familiar concepts such as secret roles and opposing teams. However, the main driver of the game is the timeline, which is a collection of 8 cards played in a row to determine how the entire game progresses.

Timeline cards shift and change, as each card is an 'event', and the order in which events appear determine who wins the match and play a huge part in identifying hidden roles.

VS

FAMILIAR ROLES
Each player is given a secret identity, except for the sniper who has to reveal themselves.

There are two teams in conflict, with the red ream trying to protect the VIP and the blue team trying to find out who the VIP is and inform the sniper to make the shot.
ASYMMETRICALGAMEPLAY
Each player will play the game differently based on which role they are given. The sniper role even plays their own deck!
While everyone else plays their cards on the timeline to progress the game, the sniper uses their own cards to investigate the players to decipher their agendas.

INFINITE REPLAYABILITY
Mission cards determine player objectives when combined with player roles, and randomization of these combinations provide for endless replay value as players can never build a particular meta that works all the time.
